Park Road and Dover Avenue from Ogden Avenue to 41st Street were identified as street segments in need of repair as part of the 2016 Street Condition Survey. The existing sewer and water mains on these roadway segments were also evaluated as the repair and/or replacement of underground utilities should be considered and coordinated with roadway rehabilitation programs to gain economies of scale and limit disruption to residents.
Since the water main was installed in 1920, it was recommended for replacement. As such, the Park Road Water Main Replacement Project includes the replacement of the Village’s existing 6” water main via directional boring methods. Directional boring is a trenchless technology that minimizes disruption to parkways, trees, and driveways. The Water Main Replacement project will be completed before the start of the roadway resurfacing project, which is planned for later this summer, in order to limit disruption to residents.
