The La Grange Fire Department and the Knox Box Company offer a line of safe-like devices (lock box) that are designed to be mounted to the outside of a building that has a fire alarm or other type of fire suppression system. A key for the business is kept inside the box. Should the alarm activate after business hours or another type of emergency response is required, the fire department can access the business using the provided key instead of using forcible entry techniques to enter the business.
The Fire Department and the Knox Box Company also offer a line of safe-like devices (lock box) designed to either hang from an entrance door or attach to the outside of a home. They are ideal for senior citizens or for residents with special need requirements, especially those who can’t get to the door easily. A key to the home is kept inside the box. Should the resident need medical assistance, the fire department can access the home using the provided key instead of using forcible entry techniques to gain entry.
The program helps firefighters and paramedics to gain entry quickly in times of emergencies, in businesses and homes, thus saving lives and property without causing damage and security issues for the owner.
