Pay Per Container Charge / Sticker Program
For information, please view the Pay Per Container Charge. Residents use a recycling bin in conjunction with this program. Recycling bins remain with the residence. Replacement bins are available at the Village Hall. For more information regarding recycling, please visit Recycling.
Toter / Refuse Cart Program
Residents have the option of choosing to subscribe to the 95-gallon toter (wheeled cart or 65-gallon toter) program through Allied Waste for a monthly fee. A 65-gallon recycling toter is included. Depending on how much waste is disposed of each month, it may be more cost-effective to subscribe to the toter service. To subscribe, please call Allied Waste at 708-345-7050. For more information, please view the Toter / Refuse Cart Service.
Spring Clean-Up Program
The Village offers an annual Spring Clean-Up program as part of its refuse disposal program. Details regarding the program vary from year-to-year and are advertised on the Village's website, Village newsletter, and media sources. Yard Waste is not included in the Spring Clean-Up program and some items such as hazardous materials, construction debris and the like are also not accepted. A complete list of unacceptable items is provided prior to each annual event.
Residents participating in the program are asked to affix the required number of stickers on their regular refuse can or other similar objects that will not be taken by scavengers prior to the arrival of the refuse disposal truck so that the stickers are not inadvertently lost.
Participation in the Spring Clean-Up program can encourage reuse and recycling initiatives as items are "picked" from the curb by individuals and recyclers typically the night before the event.
- The recycling bins the Village distributed to each home are to remain with the home for each successive owner.
- Replacement recycling bins are available at Village Hall and at Public Works.
