Former La Grange Village President Recognized

Former La Grange Village President Elizabeth Asperger was recognized for her service to the community as the Village's First Female Village President at a ceremony on November 27, 2019.

Asperger served as a La Grange Village Trustee from 1997-2005 and Village President from 2005 to 2013.  She is credited with furthering a number of initiatives during her tenure including the renovation of the Stone Avenue Train Station.

The flower garden in front of the Stone Avenue Train Station was dedicated in her honor and is identified by a plaque.

President Tom Livingston expressed his deep appreciation to former President Asperger for her leadership and recognized the added importance of her service on the eve of the 100th anniversary of the women's suffrage movement.

Congressman Dan Lipinski also presented former President Asperger with a Congressional Record Statement recognizing her work in the community and stated that "as the first elected female President of La Grange, she blazed a trail for aspiring civic leaders."
