Pedestrian Crossing Sign

In furtherance of the Village’s strategic priority of improving
pedestrian safety, new pedestrian push-button activated, lighted crossing signshave been installed at Brainard and Elm Avenues, and Edgewood Avenue and Birks
Court.  This is in addition to the recently installed signs at BrainardAvenue and 48
th Street.  The highly reflective and solar powered
signs have LED lights that flash when a pedestrian engages the signal.

Motorists are asked to be aware of the signal, proceed withcaution when the lights are activated and yield to pedestrians within the
crosswalk.  Pedestrians are reminded to wait to cross the intersectionuntil vehicles have stopped and it is safe to cross the intersection.
