The Village is in the process of assembling information on lead service replacement and will be updating this portion of the website in the near future. Property owners with lead service lines can replace their private water service lines at any time. A building permit is required for this work and the process for filing for a building permit can be found here. Separately, the Village offers a program whereby the Village coordinates replacement of water service lines when Village owned water mains are being replaced adjacent to residential properties.
In 2013, the Village collected water service line material types as part of the water meter replacement program. Information regarding the individual service lines is located here https://www.gisconsortium.org/mapoffice/?pl=VLG&map=vector&co=La%20Grange-Service%20Line%20Material-0. The data is provided for informational purposes only. Actual material should be verified by an Illinois Licensed Plumber.
